"Seeing through" the world around us...

C.S. Lewis once wrote:
"You cant go on "seeing through" things forever. The whole point of seeing through something is to see something through it. It is good that the window should be transparent, because the street or garden beyond it is opaque. How if you saw through the garden too? It is no use trying to "see through" first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent.  But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To "see through" all things is the same as not to see.

While I have not read C.S. Lewis's book Mere Christianity, the author of a book I'm reading has. In reading this book I became aware of the fact that there are so many things around us which we take for granted. So many things which God has blessed us with, yet we are not truly thankful for everything we have.

I hereby declare that for the next 30 days I will be spending a little time thinking about one thing that I easily take for granted and sharing these thoughts here...
